Who these trunks are for
You want a second pair of trunks that aren’t your competition suit. Trunks for the practice room, where you can sweat, drop, kneel, and not worry about wearing down your show pair. Trunks for the post-show photoshoot, where the print pops on camera in a way solid black never will. Trunks for the beach, the pool, the Fourth of July party, or any summer event where you want to show the physique you’ve built without looking like you walked off the stage.
Built on our Classic Physique PRO cut: narrower side seam, higher leg opening, more thigh and glute exposure. The same cut competitive classic physique athletes wear on stage — just in a print that you can’t wear on stage.
Why prints aren’t stage-legal
NPC and IFBB rules require classic physique trunks to be a solid, non-distracting color on the competition stage. Prints, patterns, and embellishments are prohibited for the lineup, judging, and posing rounds. If you compete in a federation outside NPC/IFBB, check that federation’s specific rules — some are more permissive on prints, most are not.
For the stage, see our Classic Physique Trunks in Matte Lycra (regular cut, traditional no-shine look) or Classic Physique Trunks in Hologram (regular cut, high reflectivity).
Sizing
Measure your waist at the hip-bone level.
- Small: 28–30″ waist
- Medium: 32–34″ waist (typical 175–205 lb competitor)
- Large: 36–38″ waist
Note: the PRO cut runs a touch more revealing than the regular cut at the same waist size — there is less side coverage. If you’re between sizes or new to the PRO cut, call us at 727-784-0844 before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
Can I wear these in a competition?
No. NPC and IFBB classic physique rules require a solid, non-distracting color for the stage. Prints are not permitted. These trunks are designed for posing practice, photoshoots, beach, and summer events — not for the competition stage.
Will these hold up in chlorine and salt water?
Yes, with care. The printed spandex is the same fabric weight we use for our competition suits and handles chlorine and salt water for typical beach and pool use. Rinse in cool fresh water after pool or ocean exposure, lay flat to dry, and never put any competition fabric in the dryer.
What’s the difference between the regular cut and the PRO cut?
The regular cut is the traditional classic physique silhouette — more side coverage, the conservative stage-standard fit. The PRO cut is narrower on the side with a higher leg opening for more glute and upper thigh exposure. The PRO cut is also a popular choice for photoshoots specifically because it shows more of the leg development you’ve worked for.
How fast do you ship?
Most in-stock men’s trunks ship same-day or next business day from Clearwater, Florida. If you need them by a specific date (Fourth of July, photoshoot, weekend event), call us at 727-784-0844 to confirm.
Will the print fade?
The print is dyed into the fabric, not screen-printed on top, so it does not crack or peel. Like any printed swimwear, prolonged sun and chlorine exposure can gradually soften the colors over multiple seasons. Hand wash in cool water and dry flat to maximize the lifespan.
Care
Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent. Rinse in fresh water after pool or ocean use. Lay flat to dry — never put competition fabric in the dryer. Avoid contact with self-tanner before it has fully dried.
