How to order
Use the options panel above the buy button to select:
- 1. Fabric: Matte lycra (traditional no-shine), mist hologram (subtle shine), shatterglass hologram (aggressive shine), or velvet (premium texture)
- 2. Color: Choose from our current fabric and color library
- 3. Size: Small, Medium, or Large (see sizing guide below)
- 4. Rush service (optional): 1-week rush (+$10) or 2-day rush (+$25)
Production time
All production times are business days (Monday–Friday, excluding US holidays) and are separate from shipping time.
- Standard: 2 weeks (10 business days) from order date — no extra charge
- 1-week rush: 5 business days. Add $10 in the options.
- 2-day rush: 2 business days. Add $25 in the options. Call 727-784-0844 first — 2-day capacity depends on current workload.
Once production is complete, shipping time is separate. Standard USPS Ground typically takes 2–5 business days in the US. Expedited and overnight shipping is available at checkout.
Who these trunks are for
You want a stage-legal bodybuilding trunk in a specific fabric and color combination that is not an in-stock SKU on our site. You want it built to your size by hand, not pulled from inventory. Every pair is cut to your measurements and finished in our Clearwater, Florida studio. We do not run these on an assembly line and we do not drop-ship from a factory.
Fabric guide
Quick reference for fabric selection:
- Matte lycra: Traditional no-shine. Most forgiving for tan transfer. Lets the physique do the work.
- Mist hologram: Subtle, diffused shine. Refined look that photographs cleanly.
- Shatterglass hologram: Aggressive shine. Maximum stage pop.
- Velvet: Premium texture with glitter and tie-dye treatments. Rich depth.

Sizing
Measure your waist at the hip-bone level.
- Small: 28–30″ waist
- Medium: 32–34″ waist (typical 175–205 lb competitor)
- Large: 36–38″ waist
If you are between sizes, dropping water for a show, or fall outside the standard size range, call us at 727-784-0844 before ordering. Because these are made-to-order, we can sometimes accommodate non-standard measurements at no extra cost.
Frequently asked questions
Do these meet NPC and IFBB bodybuilding guidelines?
Yes. The Rio cut with gather back meets current NPC and IFBB open bodybuilding and 212 coverage requirements in any solid color or stage-legal fabric we offer.
Does the 2-day rush mean I will have them in 2 days?
No. 2-day rush means 2 business days of production time — the trunks ship at the end of that 2nd business day. Shipping time is separate. If you need the trunks in hand by a specific date, call us at 727-784-0844 so we can calculate the right combination of rush production plus expedited shipping.
Can I send you a fabric or color I want that isn’t in your library?
Sometimes. Call us at 727-784-0844 or email lucy@sycompetitionsuits.com with a photo of the fabric or a description. We will tell you whether we can source it, what the cost would be, and whether it changes the production timeline.
What if I need them faster than 2 business days?
Call us at 727-784-0844 immediately. We will tell you honestly whether your timeline is possible based on current studio workload. If it is not, we will recommend an in-stock alternative that ships same-day.
Are custom orders returnable?
Custom-made trunks are final sale because they are built to your specifications. If there is a defect in workmanship, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will make it right. If the fit is wrong because you sized incorrectly, we cannot accept a return — which is why we recommend calling us before ordering if you have any sizing doubts.
Care
Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent. Lay flat to dry — never put competition fabric in the dryer. Hologram and velvet fabrics require gentle handling — see fabric-specific care notes when your trunk arrives. Avoid contact with self-tanner before it has fully dried.
