When you step on stage in NPC or IFBB Fit Model, the suit cannot have crystals, connectors, or embellishments. Construction does the work a crystal layout would do in Bikini — including how the top sits.

SY Competition Suits offers an optional molded-cup upgrade on custom Fit Model bikinis, in A, B, C, and D. Lucy McCudden manufactures those suits in Clearwater, Florida, since 1996.

Suits are built to NPC and IFBB Fit Model guidelines. That is not federation approval, and it is not a guarantee. The NPC, NPC Worldwide, and IFBB Professional League have not authorized or granted the license, authority, or exclusivity to any competition suit company or designer to be their official suit maker. Head-judge check-in is the test. Bring a second suit.

What are molded cups?

Molded cups are pre-shaped inserts that slide into position inside the bikini top. They are meant to hold a smooth, rounded shape under stage lighting through the front and back poses. They are lightweight and flexible. They add no crystals, connectors, or external embellishments — which is what Fit Model guidelines require of the visible suit.

That is not the same as a federation saying the cups are approved. Hidden construction still sits on your body at check-in. The head judge can send you to change.

Choose A, B, C, or D. Match the size to the shape you actually present, and keep both sides the same. This is for competition symmetry.

Why competitors add them

Shape. A smooth, rounded silhouette without a crystal layout drawing the eye.
Support through the poses. The cup is there so the top does not flatten or shift while you hold a front pose and a back pose.
Placement you can set. The cups slide in, so you can sit them higher, lower, or centered on your anatomy. That is more control than a sewn-in cup.

They do not buy you a placing, and they do not buy you a pass at the table.

Custom Fit Model suits typically take 3 weeks. Rush is available — confirm timing with the studio. Molded cups are a custom upgrade. Quick Ship / in-stock Fit Model suits use standard padding and do not include this option.

Hologram or Lycra

The cups sit inside either fabric. They should not read as a line or a bulge from the seats. Hologram adds reflectivity without crystals. Lycra stays matte. Neither fabric gets stones in this division.

Can I add molded cups to Quick Ship suits? No. Custom Fit Model only. In-stock uses standard padding.

Will the cups show through the fabric? They are built to sit clean. If a cup prints or shifts on your body, that is a fit issue to fix before check-in — not a rulebook loophole.

Does this make the suit NPC/IFBB approved? No. Built to guidelines. Not approved. Not guaranteed.

Clearwater, not imported

Every custom Fit Model suit with this upgrade is handcrafted in the Clearwater studio by Lucy and the team. SY says athletes who have worn its suits include Ms. Bikini Olympia and Ms. Wellness Olympia champions. Treat those as the company’s own claims. American-made is the factory fact. “100% NPC and IFBB compliance” is not.
